Thread: Design and Development Resources for Students

  1. #1

Default Design and Development Resources for Students

I've decided to collate a list of [free] software useful for game development in a one-stop thread that's easy to find. I'll be trawling through the forums looking for any mention of software, trying to find links, and updating this post with as many as I can find.

To qualify, the software must be free, or at least offer a free (in some way) version.

    Don't hesitate to leave suggestions.

FPS creator is only a free trial, you cant create executables with it unless you buy full.

    Nice list though

I personally prefer Code::Blocks over VS as an IDE since it is much smaller and easier to setup up 3rd party (cross) compilers with it.

Is it worth tagging in some relevant websites as well?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be updating as I get a bit of time here and there.

@MattB - Can you rename and move the thread to a common dev/designer location? Perhaps "Student Resources"?

    Thanks.

I wanted to keep this thread specifically focused on software, not the actual assets.
