    About me....My name is Dean and I've just started this course on sunday.
    I've yet to recieve my password and login details but thought I would get a head start with the Section 1 part A book.
    You answered a few questions on FLAWS in RPGs but mine is to do with RTS, it asked me "what is the major strategic flaw in RTS?"
    My answer was "PATH FINDING" am I on the right path? lol NO pun intended.
    Thanks for your time and all your effort in this forum.

    hey packman. If you think this is a major flaw then google search RTS wikipedia will kick up somthing and with a bit of light reading you should come across the answer you seek.

    There is an FAQ that covers groups and what groups are availible for you to join.

    Off the top of my head there is;

    16-Bit games - http://16bitgames.od247.co.uk

    Which is a group for any one at any point on the course that dont need to put in alot of time, but can put in as much as they want.

    If you follow the links from this FAQ to the others then youll find the one with all the other groups listed on it.

    Take it easy and good luck!

    is being a designer easy? i would say it depends on the person it might not be for one person but for others it might come naturally, if you have no ideas for games it will be harder, but if you have thousands of ideas it will be easier, its on the individual as everyone is different.

    In this instance I think 'easy' ought to be read as 'simple' or 'straightforward'. No matter how good a designer is, the job isn't a simple (easy to complete/fast etc) one.
    They might have endless ideas, be brilliant at conveying their thoughts and all, but that doesn't detract from there being a ton of paperwork to do and more.

    Not a reply so much as a subjective observation. Me getting my tuppence worth.
