    Default The last Portfolio projects

I know this has probably been done a million times,
But I am currently getting serious about this course and what completing it could entail, so I've stepped up my study and actual time I spend on work, so I'm hoping to finish it in the next couple of months max (on top of moving to Japan in 2 weeks!).

I currently have access to Projects 6 and 7, but I have a few questions. How many projects are there in total and when do they become active? I've only got 1 more TMA to complete before my final exam, and I was under the impression there were 10 projects in total!

Secondly, does anyone have any advice for using the Eclipse game engine, as well as the Unreal Development Kit, or the Source SDK. I have never done anything like this before, so other than studying this course, I am coming at this from a complete noob's approach. Advice is always appreciated and helpful, as I don't want to download them and be completely overwhelmed by it! (Of course, if there is already an adequate place for this, then please direct me there!)

And finally, I hope to become a far more active member on here and start getting involved a lot more!

    Thank you!

I still hoping for some help with these projects. I had recently moved to Japan so had to hiatus working on them, so any advice (especially on the game level design programs) is much appreciated.

Don't bother with the eclipse game engine (beyond what is required for a project).

    Use Unity 5 or UE4.

I apparently have to use the Eclipse engine for a project, but it's next to unusable. I have no idea how to use it and all the guidelines I've read on how to use it just don't seem to work. I don't know if it's my laptop, or the software itself (as it was nearly impossible to install and run), and even now I can't seem to get it doing what I need. I have no idea how I'm supoosed to create the world they detailed in the project as the software can barely manage a few squares.

How long should this take to do?
Are there ways around it? (for example, a better place to download the software from intead of their awful website)
And finally, and really good how to guides on using them and the other programs you mentioned?

Thanks in advanced for you help! (also, where is best to post for advice, as this section seems a bit quite!)

These forums are "dead", for help with eclipse you'll be best speaking to the tutors and/ or using any community forums the eclipse software has. I can't help you, as I didn't bother touching eclipse and have moved on over to v3 of the course ... which I would recommend doing if you're able to.
