    Modelling the car assignments is to get you used to modelling perhaps from modelling sheets or blueprints, or just making something look like a car. None of the above is specified, nor is there any real criteria behind it, its more for the beginners. Well, that is my take on it at least. I would stick to using edit poly features to the maximum, I think this is the intention at this part of the course.

    So, low poly (at least enough poly to recognise it as a car), one object and seperate wheels.
    Or is it something i could probably skip?

    Yea pretty much that, I wouldn't skip it though, try out and see if you can get a car with 500 polys no including wheels (lets give 100 polys per wheel at most) that actually looks nice.

    After talking to one of the tutors, who said i could, if i wanted, use my Ford GT for the model a car section, and having a little play with the house and furniture scene, i decided ill have a little play at a new car model.
    Decided to do the Pug 107. Just started an hour ago, so will post pix soon.

    Hi, very cool car model, my thoughts - you could have saved polygons from wheels as they are flat anyway, and give them same amount of detail in texture, you can spend that polygons on some extras on chassis,
    Sides of the car are almost never visible both at the same time so getting away with texturing only one and mirroring it could save some space, I'm not expert in this case but I think that texturing only half a car should be possible especially if it's so low res (don't know if it would be possible to mask seam in the middle of car), same dirt on both sides could be barely noticeable.
    Like your model, can't wait to see it finished.

    Hey guys.
    Not been about for a while, had my head down getting on with the course and getting to the meat of it!. Now on section 1 part C and doing the Concept girl model. I have followed it most the way, but found the way i normally do faces was easier and worked out better.
