This document is nearly 3 years old, its a little out of date, a quick look down the list I saw 30 studios that don't exist any more. I'm in the process of getting a more up to date list as part of my requirements for the student placement scheme, at some point I should be able to post something for the students that a lot more accurate.

good post. might be out of date but a good start point for us all. I looked up Travellers Tales site. They are based in Knutsford. Kind of Cheshire/Manchester depending on there exact location. there is a jobs section on the site. gives a good description of what thay are looking for from potential applicants.

Obviously this includes the rest of the world, but http://www.gamedevmap.com/ is a constantly updated map of global studios.

Good point. Is there any update yet on the T2G certificates actually being recognised beyond the UK?

Considering the mad rush for jobs seems a bit crazy to keep all the eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Wow, knew Sony was in Cambridge, Ninja Theory is too, not on list, but David Braben's Frontier developments is too, must be some kudos working there.

Unfortunately Microsoft Cambridge seems to be research facility, not games dev, but hey.

That's not likely to happen until some graduates appear and prove themselves. If you want to work internationally, your best chance is probably to gain experience in the UK, or even better, get a job with a UK EA/Activision/Ubisoft/Microsoft/Sony etc studio, and apply for a transfer.

There you go
http://www.gamedevmap.com/ more locations around England and the world.

Not to be a "bully" but that was posted on here already, on this thread, hours ago.

If you look at some other indie game sites that are around, as well as a lot of the free flash game sites and many others (I believe Yaustar had some indie site links or has referred to some in posts) other than Train2Game students, there are a lot of people out there making indie names for themselves, but at the same time, as has been mentioned in many many forum posts and threads, it's not just about the qualification, but the student's portfolio. Turning round and saying "I've got a certificate that says I can do blah blah blah" means diddlysquat to me if you haven't got anything to show me. Having a nicely presented portfolio and demonstrate an understanding of what it is you're talking about and show some form of savvy to the industry has a lot more appeal than a piece of paper, regardless of where it came from on this planet.
