Hello all,

i am after the best 3d multiplayer game engine, i have been looking around but dont seem to be able to find any, the only one i found was bigworld but they wanted $20-25,000

Im not bovered about paying for the software but $20-25,000 is abit to much

do any of you know any good game engines that allow for 3d multiplayer that are reasonably cheap or free ??

Realmcrafter Pro is still in BETA (2.41 at the moment) and still has it's fair share of bugs.

However it is just 110 (ish) significantly cheaper than Torque, with most of the hardcore coding done on it. All you would have to code is any additional scripts you want for your MMORPG.

Been trying it myself in the past week. I would probably wait until it's full released so you don't have to deal with the bugs and constantly update the version of your game.

Try the UDK. Unreal Engine. You can see from Gears of War as to how good it is.

UDK has all the multiplayer stuff already built in as well. Similiar to RealmCrafter you just have to script in what you want into the game. Although you don't get source access like you do with RC.

Multiplayer or Massive Multiplayer?

Something on par with Second Life scale I believe.

Oops, my bad, I was referring to nats0128's game concept.
