also as I don't care much for football I have never played any of the fifa or pes games. I have heard from other gamers that they are good sometimes, just wondering if anybody here likes them and what they like about them....

England are playing USA tonight eh? What sport??

Just kidding. But as you've probably guessed - not a fan of football (not anything past local teams playing in the park because they love the game, rather than getting obscene amounts of money anyway). The whole "world cup fever" leaves me untouched and unmoved... if anything our house could be described as the eye of the world cup hurricane.

I hate football, I have no interest in watching pro sport in general, the only time I plan on watching sport live is if my kids play, and I hate FIFA.
I also couldn't care less if England win or lose.
Unfortunately the mother in law is down and has hijacked the telly to watch it, and I can't play blur as a result.

Sorry, that's probably not the right answer is it :p

edit: all my negitive miserable posts after this point will be replaced with nice thoughts

I don't just dislike football, I dislike most of the English professional football players too, and if they win, the success has nothing to do with me, I don't feel involved, I'm not playing.
I'm not saying everyone should feel that way, but I don't feel any personal investment, I don't feel that just because I come from the country I should care about 11 players, 7 of whom were probably school bullys or are the sort of guys who start fights in night clubs.

Damn I'm curmudgeonly today.

Ah I have to disagree. I never said I care for the players but it's a British thing to have pride and I highly doubt they were 'bullies' I mean come on, Peter Crouch? A bully?. There's nothing wrong with rooting for you countries team in any sport, heck I'll even support in England if there was a World Cup Chess event, purely because it's England vs the world and I'm British!

You can't exactly say it has nothing to do with you because 99.99% of the time everyone's success has nothing to do with you unless you help them.

Edit: Plus I'm half Scottish too ;)

1-1 Although not the score we all wanted, it was not a loss, and I thought we did actually play well.

Besides England drew there first game in 1966 before going on to win it!

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!

If only you watch Ironcore vid from 1 min to 1:15 ...It explains the whole game

Rico3k
06-13-2010, 03:52 PM
Sorry ironcore, i do agree with you that we should all pulled together as a nation and support england whether you are a football fan or not

England are 8th in the world rankings not 5th and unlucky drew with the USA who are 14th

Mexico 17th and drew with South Africa who are 83rd

England of 1966 drew the opening game 0-0 and went on to win :D

To say i'm peeved about the result i would say yes, as the USA never really created problems for us, the odd shot. The disappointing thing was the chances we had we couldn't convert into goals

Mistakes happen, this is part of life and we just have to get on with it.
